Damaged fragment deemed 'unremarkable' turns out to be rare piece of Homer's 'Odyssey' history

A papyrus fragment held at Utrecht University's archives for decades was identified as containing text from Homer's "Odyssey" Book 12 by a professor at Radboud University. The fragment had previously gone unrecognized despite being part of the university's collection. The identification revealed the fragment to be a historical manuscript of the ancient Greek epic poem.
