Mexico Stresses Sovereignty in US Cooperation

Mexico's foreign minister Roberto Velasco Álvarez stated that cooperation with the United States on security matters must respect Mexico's sovereignty and territorial integrity, according to Bloomberg. He said Mexico maintains a strong relationship with the US and remains cautiously optimistic about ongoing trade negotiations. Velasco Álvarez identified relief from US tariffs on automobiles and steel as a priority in those discussions.
