Tesla’s Optimus robot is going through growing pains

Tesla produced several hundred Optimus robots per week as of last month, according to The Information, after repurposing its Model S and Model X production lines for the robots earlier in 2026. Tesla had previously stated a goal of producing 20,000 Optimus units per week. The Information reported that the manufacturing strategy has created production issues.
