Malaysia’s Najib Seeks 1MDB Jail Term Halt Before House Arrest

Najib Razak, Malaysia's former prime minister, applied for a stay of his 15-year prison sentence and fine related to his 1MDB conviction. The application would allow him to serve an alternative sentence under house arrest following a conditional royal pardon granted the previous week. Najib was convicted in connection with the 1Malaysia Development Berhad fund scandal.
