‘America’s Bishop’ Was Beatified. 50,000 Catholics Showed Up.

Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen was beatified on December 5, 2024, in St. Louis, moving him one step closer to canonization as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church. Approximately 50,000 Catholics attended the ceremony. Sheen served as archbishop of Rochester, New York, and was a prominent Catholic television personality during the mid-20th century.
