Lula to Ban Online Betting, Offer Debt Relief Before Election

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva signed two provisional measures on Friday: one banning online betting and another allowing renegotiation of individual debts. The measures were confirmed by two individuals with knowledge of the actions. Provisional measures in Brazil allow the president to enact policy changes that take effect immediately but require congressional approval within 120 days to remain in effect.
