Data centers are black boxes, but California wants to change that

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed multiple bills on Monday related to data center operations and environmental disclosure in California. The legislation requires data centers to provide communities with information about their electricity consumption and water usage. Data centers have expanded operations across numerous U.S. communities in recent years.
