Island Pharma Jumps After Emergency-Use Approval for Ebola Drug

Island Pharmaceuticals Ltd., an Australian pharmaceutical company, announced that its antiviral galidesivir received regulatory and ethics approvals for emergency use in patients with the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola in Uganda. The company's stock price rose as much as 47% following the announcement. Galidesivir is an experimental antiviral drug being studied as a treatment for Ebola infection.
