Trump meets US-backed Venezuelan president for first time since Maduro seized

Juan Guaidó, the opposition leader backed by the Trump administration, met with Trump at an undisclosed location. Guaidó had been recognized by the U.S. as Venezuela's legitimate president during the previous administration. Guaidó was arrested in Venezuela in 2023 and later relocated to the United States. The meeting marked their first known encounter since Nicolás Maduro consolidated control of Venezuela's government.
