Popular weight-loss drugs face numerous lawsuits over rare ‘eye stroke’ linked to vision loss

Hundreds of consumers have filed lawsuits alleging that GLP-1 drugs including Ozempic and Wegovy caused NAION, a condition involving blockage of blood vessels in the optic nerve that resulted in sudden vision loss. The lawsuits name manufacturers Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly as defendants. NAION typically affects one eye and can result in permanent vision impairment.
