Kremlin suspected of flying drones over Europe using Russian shadow fleet

Russian naval vessels have been linked to drone activity over European waters, according to reports from European defense officials. The drones were identified in airspace over multiple European countries between November 2024 and January 2025. European officials attributed the flights to ships operating outside standard international maritime tracking systems. Several NATO countries increased air patrols and monitoring in response to the incidents.
