US to build two military bases in Greenland under new deal with Denmark

The United States and Denmark signed a defense agreement at the UN General Assembly that includes construction of two U.S. military bases in Greenland. The agreement reaffirms Danish sovereignty over the territory, which has home rule status. The bases will be established in the Arctic region.
