Rivian’s R2 beat its own climate goals four years early

Rivian's R2 production process uses more renewable energy and incorporates more recycled and biodegradable materials than the company's R1 models, according to the company. Rivian had set a target year of 2030 for the R2 to achieve reduced emissions compared to its earlier vehicles. The company stated it met this emissions reduction goal in 2026.
