Autopsy shows Hayden Panettiere died from a drug overdose

The Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office in New York determined that actress Hayden Panettiere died from a drug overdose, according to her death certificate filed in October 2024. Panettiere, 36, was found unresponsive in a Harriman, New York home on February 19, 2024. In prior interviews, Panettiere had discussed her history with substance abuse and her treatment.
