Activision is taking over Halo as part of a massive Xbox shake-up

Microsoft announced a restructuring of its Xbox division that transfers the Halo, Sea of Thieves, and Age of Empires franchises to Activision. The company is laying off approximately 268 Xbox employees as part of the reorganization. This follows Microsoft's earlier layoff of 1,600 Xbox employees and sale of multiple studios.
