Paramount Talks Include Penalty for Missing 30-Film Pledge

Settlement talks between Paramount Skydance Corp. and California officials over the acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. include a provision requiring Paramount to pay $30 million for each film below a 30-film-per-year theatrical distribution target, Bloomberg reported. The talks also reportedly include a requirement that Paramount sell its stake in Miramax if it fails to meet the annual distribution goal. Bloomberg cited two unnamed people familiar with the negotiations as sources.
