The long dream of the Googlebook

Sundar Pichai, a Google executive, announced in late 2010 that the company was developing a new laptop concept centered entirely around web browsers, where applications would run through the browser rather than being installed locally on the device. This concept, which became known as Chromebook, represented Google's approach to computing built around cloud-based software and services. The product line launched commercially in 2011 and has since become a significant segment of the laptop market, particularly in education.
