Saudis Slash Main Oil Price to Rare Discount

Saudi Aramco lowered prices for oil sold to Asian buyers, according to Ellen Wald, president of Transversal Consulting. Wald stated that the price reduction was intended to incentivize Asian purchasers to transport oil through the Strait of Hormuz and purchase stored inventory. Bloomberg reported the move.
