After 8 Years in Space, ‘BepiColombo’ Is Finally Approaching Mercury

The BepiColombo spacecraft, launched in 2018, is approaching Mercury after eight years of travel through space. The probe is scheduled to enter orbit around Mercury to study its magnetic field and internal structure. BepiColombo is a joint mission of the European Space Agency and Japan's space agency.
