Chicago officers wounded in traffic stop shootout as holiday weekend leaves 3 dead, 16 injured

Two Chicago police officers were shot during a traffic stop on the South Side. Malik Wrightsell was arrested and charged in connection with the shooting. Both officers were struck in their ballistic vests and sustained injuries. Over the holiday weekend, Chicago recorded 3 homicides and 16 additional shooting injuries across the city.
