Bolivia Eliminates Diesel Subsidy After IMF Loan Approval

Bolivia's Senate approved a $1.9 billion International Monetary Fund loan on the condition that the government eliminate its diesel subsidy. The subsidy removal is part of the spending requirements attached to the IMF agreement. Bolivia had previously maintained diesel price controls as part of its domestic policy.
