Trump Has Tried to Ban Reporters From Government Spaces Before

President Trump has previously attempted to restrict journalist access to government spaces. In 2017, Trump administration officials barred CNN reporter Jim Acosta from the White House press briefing room following a contentious exchange; a federal judge later ordered Acosta's credentials restored. The administration also revoked press credentials for other reporters and attempted to limit media access to certain government facilities during Trump's first term.
