It Still Feels Like Summer in Parts of the US. Blame El Niño

A natural climate pattern called El Niño is contributing to higher temperatures across parts of the United States, according to climate scientists. El Niño occurs when warm water in the equatorial Pacific Ocean affects global weather patterns and typically increases global temperatures. Scientists attribute current heat records to both El Niño and emissions from burning fossil fuels.
