'The View' eased up on political candidate bookings amid FCC inquiry, report says

The Federal Communications Commission opened an inquiry into whether "The View" violated equal time rules by booking more Democratic than Republican political candidates as guests, according to Semafor. In response, ABC adjusted its booking practices for the show and launched a campaign against the FCC's position, Semafor reported. The equal time rule requires broadcast stations to offer equal opportunities to candidates for the same office.
