After being sidelined, Boeing's Starliner to get starring role in NASA's spaceflight plans

Boeing's Starliner spacecraft will be used for crewed missions to the International Space Station following its certification by NASA. The vehicle completed uncrewed test flights and crewed test missions before being approved for operational use. NASA selected Boeing and SpaceX under its Commercial Crew Program to transport astronauts to and from the station. Boeing received approximately $4.2 billion in development funding for the Starliner program.
