Germany to Sweeten Terms of Gas Plant Auction to Draw More Bids

Germany is increasing the maximum payment it will offer to developers in auctions for gas-fired power plants. The government said the higher payments aim to attract additional bids for backup power capacity. The auctions are scheduled to begin in the coming months.
