Khosla-backed Mazama Energy just raised $135M to drill deeper into super-hot-rock geothermal

Geothermal startup Mazama Energy raised $135 million in funding, according to an announcement by the company. Mazama is developing wells that drill approximately three miles underground to access superhot rock for electricity generation. The company stated that one of its wells is designed to generate 15 megawatts of electricity continuously. Khosla Ventures participated in the funding round.
