UK needs 'credible path' on defence spending, says Nato chief

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said in a BBC interview that UK ministers have accepted the need to increase defence spending incrementally each year. Rutte did not specify the timeline or target amount for those increases. The UK currently spends 2.3 percent of its GDP on defence, above NATO's 2 percent guideline.
