Microsoft lays off nearly 5,000 employees across Xbox, commercial sales

Microsoft eliminated approximately 4,800 positions, representing 2.1% of its global workforce, on Monday. The cuts affected the Xbox division and commercial sales teams most significantly. This is the latest reduction in Microsoft's headcount following previous layoffs announced in January 2023.
