Jon Kyl, a Republican senator from Arizona who served as the second-ranking member of the Senate Republican caucus, died at age 84. Kyl represented Arizona in the Senate across two separate periods of service and held the position of Republican Whip during his tenure. He was appointed to fill a Senate vacancy in 2018 and previously served in the chamber from 1995 to 2013.
