Labor crisis in U.S. chip manufacturing leaves Samsung, TSMC desperate for talent

Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) are expanding U.S. chip fabrication facilities but face difficulty recruiting workers for manufacturing roles, according to reporting on the sector. Both companies have partnered with American universities to develop training programs designed to prepare workers for semiconductor production jobs. The shortage occurs as semiconductor demand has increased and multiple U.S. facilities have begun or expanded operations under incentives provided by the CHIPS and Science Act.
