Myanmar Deports Detained Ex-AmCham Chief to ‘Preserve’ US Ties

Myanmar deported American businessman Adam Castillo on Wednesday evening following his three-month detention on breach of trust charges. A Myanmar government statement attributed the deportation to preserving diplomatic relations with the United States. Castillo, a former American Chamber of Commerce chief in Myanmar, had been held since his arrest in late 2025.
