Trump says he told Fed chief to ‘do what you want’ ahead of interest rate hike

President Trump said he told Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh to "do what you want" regarding interest rate decisions. Trump stated he expects the Fed to operate independently and not follow his direction on monetary policy. Warsh was appointed Fed chair in 2025.
