Chelsea chairman and director sell stakes in club to majority owner Clearlake
Wednesday, September 16, 2026
Clearlake Capital acquired majority ownership of Chelsea Football Club after chairman Todd Boehly, director Mark Walter, and Hansjorg Wyss sold their stakes in the club. Boehly, Walter, and Wyss had previously held ownership positions following the club's sale from Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich in 2022. The transaction gave Clearlake full control of the Premier League club.
