Microsoft is laying off approximately 4,800 employees, representing 2.1 percent of its workforce, according to a company announcement. Most of the affected employees work in the commercial sales business or the Xbox division. This follows layoffs of approximately 9,100 employees that Microsoft conducted in the prior year.
