Kosovo's ex-President Thaci convicted of war crimes, sentenced to 25 years in prison

Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci was convicted by an EU-backed court of war crimes committed during Kosovo's war for independence from Serbia. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison. The court, the Specialist Chambers, was established to investigate crimes allegedly committed during the 1998-1999 conflict.
