Ed Sheeran stated that the concert promoter, not he, made the decision to remove Macklemore from the "Loop Tour" after U.S. venues indicated they would cancel shows. Sheeran said he had attempted to resolve the situation before the venues rejected the arrangement. Macklemore was initially scheduled as an opener for portions of the tour.
