Baby 'cot cams' plan after inquiry finds Lucy Letby crimes could have been prevented
Tuesday, September 15, 2026
An inquiry into Lucy Letby's crimes recommended developing plans for live-streaming cameras in hospital settings. Letby, a nurse, was convicted in 2023 of murdering seven infants and attempting to murder six others at Chester Hospital between 2015 and 2019. The inquiry found that earlier detection could have prevented some of the deaths. Health officials said they will develop the camera plans as a matter of urgency in response to the inquiry's findings.
