Maduro Fixer Saab Pleads Guilty in US Money-Laundering Case

Alex Saab, a financial adviser to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, pleaded guilty in Miami federal court to money laundering charges. The plea involved transactions related to Venezuela's food-import contracts and oil sales that violated US sanctions. Saab had been arrested in Cape Verde in 2020 and extradited to the United States in 2021.
