FIRST: New World Screwworm Found in Horse near Texas Border with Mexico

A horse in Presidio County, Texas was found infested with the New World screwworm, according to U.S. Equestrian Federation officials. The infestation was located on the horse's hind limb. This marks the first confirmed case of the parasitic fly larvae in a horse in Texas during the 2000s.
