Those Viral Bodega Peptides Aren’t Actually Peptides

WIRED tested samples of four types of peptides marketed and sold in bodegas and found that none of the samples contained the peptides advertised on their labels. The testing revealed significant gaps in regulatory oversight of the peptide market, which has grown in popularity despite minimal quality control requirements. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not pre-approve peptide products before they reach consumers, and most peptide sales occur outside traditional pharmaceutical channels.
