New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed a law authorizing Attorney General Letitia James to fine organizations that contact union members without prior consent. The law applies to groups attempting to recruit or persuade union members away from their unions. A labor advocacy organization objected to the measure, stating it restricts the ability to communicate with union members.
