Over 5,400 websites have been compromised to display fake CAPTCHA verification screens that prompt users to enter commands into Windows Run, according to security researchers tracking the ClickFix malware campaign. The compromised sites include legitimate businesses across multiple industries. Users who follow the on-screen instructions execute malware code on their systems.
