Refining Bottleneck Sends Diesel to Record High

Global refinery disruptions abroad combined with limited refining capacity in the United States have contributed to diesel prices reaching record levels, according to Bloomberg reporting. Patrick De Haan of GasBuddy stated on Bloomberg This Weekend that increasing crude oil production alone would not resolve the supply constraint because refiners are already operating near maximum capacity. De Haan said this limits the ability to rapidly increase gasoline and diesel supplies.
