Bond Trader Whose Wrong-Way Bets Collapsed Firm Gets 16 Years

A former trader at IFS Securities Inc. was sentenced to 16 years in prison for unauthorized bond trades conducted in 2019 that resulted in $30 million in losses and led to the firm's bankruptcy. The Chicago broker-dealer ceased operations following the losses. The trader was convicted of the unauthorized trading activity that triggered the firm's collapse.
