Former NYC Deputy Mayor on Remembering 9/11

Edward Skyler, former New York City Deputy Mayor, said that when Mayor Michael Bloomberg was sworn in on January 1, 2002, smoke was still rising from the World Trade Center site following the September 11 attacks. Skyler stated that city leaders faced the task of listening to different perspectives and developing plans to serve the city's interests during the period after the attacks. He said those decisions made during that time have endured. The September 11 attacks resulted in approximately 2,700 deaths.
