Former Mets pitcher Al Leiter tells his harrowing 9/11 story of a quiet trip turned tragedy

Al Leiter, a former pitcher for the New York Mets, was walking his daughter to school in Manhattan on September 11, 2001, when he witnessed the attacks on the World Trade Center. Leiter said he decided to return home early that morning instead of traveling to the stadium as originally planned. From a taxi, he observed the Twin Towers burning after the attacks.
