AI is Accelerating Drug Discovery: McKernan

Ruth McKernan, a partner at SV Health Investors, stated that artificial intelligence is accelerating certain stages of drug discovery and improving patient selection for clinical trials. McKernan also noted that wearables and health data are enabling more personalized medical approaches. She said that some phases of drug development cannot be accelerated and that the UK requires additional funding to help life-sciences companies expand operations.
