Europe will go it alone on Venus mission after NASA yanks radar instrument

The European Space Agency will proceed with its planned Venus mission without a radar instrument originally developed by NASA after the White House moved to withdraw U.S. participation in the project. NASA had contributed a synthetic aperture radar to the mission, which the agency has now been directed to remove. The ESA has stated it will continue with the mission using alternative instruments and is exploring additional partnerships to replace the lost capability.
