Dudamel Lands in New York, With Big Ambitions and a Packed Schedule

Gustavo Dudamel took office as conductor of the New York Philharmonic and said, "This is not a job — it is a mission." Dudamel began a month of performances with the orchestra and will lead it on a European tour. The New York Philharmonic's previous conductor was Jaap van Zweden, who departed in 2024.
